B2 First-style listening tests

4 listening tests in the format and at the difficulty of the B2 First listening paper. Audio, questions and transcript.

Each of the four tests is a conversation between two people who disagree about something ordinary — renewing a lease, a repair that is running late, whether a teenager goes to a festival — followed by six multiple-choice questions.

At B2 the difficulty sits in the gap between what is said and what is meant. Neither speaker uses unusual vocabulary, so what separates a right answer from a wrong one is whether you caught the hesitation, the concession, or the moment somebody changed their mind. The wrong options are written to be plausible: they cannot be eliminated without listening.
