Which AI English speaking apps need a credit card? Free trial, no credit card (2026)
Some AI English apps let you practise free with no credit card; others ask for a payment method before the free trial starts and charge you when it ends. Here is which is which.

The apps that ask for a card first
Speak is the clear case: its help centre says that to start the 7-day free trial you create an account, choose a plan and add a payment method. You are not charged at that step, but the subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least one day before the trial ends.
Any trial you start inside the iPhone or Android app runs through Apple or Google billing, and it renews to a paid plan unless you cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. ELSA’s FAQ describes exactly that: 7-day trials that renewed to a 3-month plan.
Free with no credit card
Gliglish gives 10 minutes a day without even an account. Fluvia’s trial conversation needs no account or card. TalkPal’s free plan (10 minutes a day), Praktika’s free version and Loora’s one free lesson need an account but no payment details. ChatGPT and Gemini need only their usual free account.
