Dividir los phrasal verbs en «principiante, intermedio y avanzado» no significa gran cosa: get by no es gramaticalmente más difícil que get up, simplemente es menos frecuente. Aquí los niveles responden a otra pregunta — cuánto tarda en costarte no saberlo.

Dentro de cada nivel importa la partícula: up termina cosas, out las vacía o las revela, off las separa. Verlas juntas es lo único que hace que los phrasal verbs dejen de parecer arbitrarios.

«Separable» significa que el objeto puede ir en medio: turn the light off es tan correcto como turn off the light. Y si el objeto es un pronombre, TIENE que ir en medio: turn it off, nunca turn off it.

Los del día a día

Sin estos no se sostiene un día normal: levantarse, encender algo, salir, buscar las llaves. Son los primeros que aprende cualquiera y los que más se repiten.
